Chocolate love cake

A chocolate love cake to enjoy along with your loved ones!

Dry ingredients

  • 175 grams Self Raising flour
  • 50 grams good quality cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 250 grams sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon coffee powder

Wet ingredients

  • 150 ml vegetable oil
  • 4 medium eggs


  1. Pre-heat oven to 200C/180C fan. Prepare a Springform Heart Cake Tin (Height: 7.5 cm, Width: 20 cm, Depth: 22 cm).
  2. Combine all the listed wet ingredients and the dry ingredients until just combined.
  3. Pour the mixture into the prepared cake tin. Bake for 40 mins until a skewer inserted into the middle of the cake comes out clean. Leave to cool in the oven for 20 mins. Then remove the cake from the cake tin and leave to cool completely on a wire rack.
  4. I used store bought Betty Crocker Vanilla Buttercream Style Icing. The chocolate tastes good without icing also.
  5. Enjoy this chocolate love cake along with your loved ones :)

Recipe Notes

Note : I have observed that this chocolate cake tastes best the next day with a delicious chocolate flavour.
