5 minute turmeric chilli chickpea

A quick and easy 5 minute turmeric chilli chickpea dish which can be prepared in 5 mins. Make sure to adjust the chilli or cayenne as per your tolerance level!

  • 240 grams tinned chickpeas after draining the water
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (increase up to 1/2 teaspoon as per your taste)
  • 200 grams canned tomatoes


  1. In a microwavable bowl, add tomatoes, turmeric, chilli powder and salt. Mix well.
  2. Add drained chickpeas and again mix well.
  3. Cover and Microwave for 4 minutes - 900 Watts.
  4. It will be hot. So use oven gloves to open it as the hot steam may escape. Alternatively allow it to stand for some 5 mins to cool down.
  5. Enjoy this delicious turmeric chilli chickpea :)
